  • Port Alberni sees strong afternoon winds coming from the south. These are called Thermal Winds which typically happen in areas with significant temperature differences. Some 40 kms south of Port Alberni (Bamfield area) we'll see temps in the summer about 10 degrees lower than our lovely warm temperatures in the Alberni Valley. This leads to the fairly typical afternoon winds.
  • Taken along the Alberni Inlet Trail. A wonderful trail with incredible views along the way. Go for an hour, go for a day!

Picture taken by us at Stamp Falls Provincial Park located about 20 minutes from the Visitor Center. A must see all year long and especially during the fish migration seasons - mid-June through late October.
