Fantastic location after quite a testing drive from the Dead Sea road. Staff orgainsied a taxi for me to pick my partner up from Amman airport which was well worth it. Spa well equipped and good staff were helpful. No treatment menu at Spa was a real suprise and poor ommission. Room was very pleasant with good balcony and of high quality. Large bathroom and shower added to good ambiance. Although Spa is a little away from hotel there are frequent buggis to ferry you. Blessed with good weather for the one night stay. Highly recommend this hotel for a great relaxing break with clos proximty to Dead Sea.
I went to Janna as a second choice after all the Dead Sea hotels were sold out. The Janna website said no rooms were available, but when I called, it turned out there were plenty. So call. You'll get better information. Janna would love to be soemthing like a Moevenpick, and it's really nice, but it doesn't quite reach a Moevenpick's over-the-top luxury, which is actually fine by me. The rooms are extremely attractice, even those that overlook the parking lot, as ours did, and the buffet dinners and breakfasts are inventive and tasty. Also, best showers in Jordan. The hotel suggests that it has its own waterfall. It really doesn't, not one you can get in. It does has it's own waterfall but it has not been developed in such a way that you can bathe in it. You have to walk about a quarter mile (or wait to be driven in a golf cart) to the public one, which is probably more fun anyway. The spa is fine, but not of the Dead Sea / Moevenpick quality. I had a decent massage but not a great one. Expect service charges to massively drive up the cost of your stay. Janna is a little strange. There's something unfinished feeling about the place. It's not at all bad and I would very happily return but it's almost as if I came in off-season, which I didn't. …
Janna means paradise in Arabic and the hotspring hotel and spa lives up to the name. After a long steep descent into the valley the first sight is a waterfall tumbling down the rugged cliffs. Its amazing to find out that the waterfall is hot! Reception was helpful, check in was quick and efficient. Room was lovely, I particularly liked the wooden shutters that led out to the balcony. Huge bathroom with walk in shower. Service and food in the restaurant were both good. In the evening we were able to sit outside in the bar and watch the sun set over the cliffs, very, very nice! Next morning I went to the inhouse spa and had a facial. A Six Senses spa will be opening mid-2007 to concentrate on relaxation facials/wraps etc while the inhouse spa will concentrate on the therapeutic use of Dead Sea products. I was also able to have a soak in the natural hotpool at the base of one of the waterfalls, lovely experience. Wish we could have stayed longer and I'm already planning to go back. (Formally a Mercure hotel, the property is now owned by Preferred Hotels.) …
