Greetings, my wife and I will be visiting Vienna for the first time as part of a Viking River cruise, October 2-3, 2017. We would love to visit the Wachau Valley for a wine tasting tour. Do you have any tours that can accommodate the time schedules for the Viking cruise ships that dock for 2 nights in Vienna? Thank you for your prompt reply to my inquiry.
The trip up to Wachau is quite nice but it is a full day. Wines are forgettable but the experience is good. Be sure the tour includes Krems as well as Durnstein. We lived in Vienna for a number of years and I was on the tour this year with some family that had not been to the area and it did not include time in Krems which in my opinion devalued the trip 75%.
Yes. This tour can accommodate your schedule and is a great choice for a tour. We just did the tour in early Nov and everything was open but the Danube river cruise but since you will already be on a river cruise that will not matter to you. We highly recommend this tour as it was a great experience and the guides were fantastic. They can customize the tour for you as well so you will get to see what you want to see in the time you have allotted.
Hello. As far as I know, the tours take place daily (although that may not be the case this late in the season). They leave the tour office at 9:00 in the morning and return to Vienna at about 5:00. Judging from the question, there should be ample time for you to take the tour as long as you have two FULL days in Vienna.
Check with Viator on line - we booked our day trip to the valley through them -- they use a local company and the tour is fantastic with lots of wine. Hope you can organize it - great day.
