Beeing in India for business reasons I suffered a slipped disc in my first week. It was extremely painful and I was hardly able to move about.
The MAX Hospital crew gave me painkillers but was not able to do much about it.
Since I had almost nothing to lose I tried Ayurveda the first time in my life, not knowing anything about it. After searching the internet I tried Ayurveda Kendra at a venture.
Ayurveda Kendra in Safdarjung enclave is a small private Ayurveda hospital, recently refurbished, very clean and a warm and friendly place with a Ganasha sitting next to the Entrance.
There are two (female) doctors: The Senior Doctor, M.D. Ashoka and the junior doctor, Anesha.
The Hospital is open 7 days a week and one of the doctors is always present.
My slipped disc was to be cured by ayurvedic treatments, I was told. Hot oil, poured over my back again and again and again. 3 People did this for 1,5 hours.
The treatment staff was very friendly, rather quiet and extremely helpful.
Only after the second treatment I was again able to stand upright!
In total I had about 20 treatments within 10 weeks and I can say that I am highly sattisfied with the result.
Both doctors a very warm, helpful and understanding. Both speak English, the junior doctor speaks a bit more.
The treatment staff also is very warm and helpful even though one does not realize it in the first 5 minutes. They also expect a tip, which is actually not surprising in India.
How much? No idea. I gave them 1000 Rupee after 6 treatments and they were happy. It was ok for me, since I was relieved from a great pain.
The treatment was 12.000 Rupee for the consultation and 7 treatments. I learned that there are cheaper doctors in Delhi but I think it is worth it.
(I found out that a fair price for a Rikshaw ride from Chankayapuri / Lodi /Khan Market to Safrdajung Enclave is about 70 Rupee)
Conclusion:
If anything would happen to me again in Delhi that still allows me to walk and talk I would at first go there again.
