Just spent a very enjoyable, informative morning at Torrin. Although we live just off Skye this was an area we had not been to and probably never would! So great to go off the beaten track.
Mark is a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable about the area and how the landscape was formed, pointed out things that we would have just walked past otherwise. Some jaw dropping bits of info too. To top it all the March sunshine and warmth was a bonus.
All the way back home we were looking at rock formations!
Couldn't recommend this tour more, whether its your first visit, you're a seasoned visitor or like us you live in the area. Marks friendly manner along with his knowledge and obvious passion make it a fantastic day to be had.

I was meant to go on a group tour that unexpectedly became a solo tour. Mark was an excellent, adaptable, and knowledgeable guide, and I feel that I got a very unique experience out of Mark's tour. I had a lot of questions running the breadth of geology, geography, ancient history, ecology, etc. and Mark was able to discuss it all. We saw dolphins (or were they porpoises?) at Torrin Beach, incredible ancient sites, caves, and waterfalls. It felt like we were able to fit so much into one day! If and when I return to Skye, I would love to book with Mark again and highly recommend that others do too. Thank you!

I can highly recommend going on one of Mark’s guided tours of the wonderful geography and geology of the Isle of Skye … Mark has a wealth of knowledge and can explain complex subjects with ease. Mark tailored the day to suit my interests (in my case it was evidence of the after-effects of the last ice age, of which there is plenty on Skye). Mark will take you off the beaten track, far away from the Fairy Pools, the Old Man of Storr and Dunvegan Castle (not that these places aren’t themselves part of the magic of Skye), and you are guaranteed a fascinating, enjoyable and informative day, exploring the enchanting and legendary Misty Isle

If you love hiking and learning about the natural world, this tour is a must. Mark will leave you with a deep appreciation for the island’s incredible history and geography/geology. He’s also a wealth of knowledge about the island’s culture and goings on as a long time resident.
On our tour, my wife and I saw everything from caves to woodlands and beaches. He is able to customize your tour to your interests and activity level and keeps in contact often to help plan the day according to latest weather (which is always changing).
It was great going to places we never would have known about otherwise and away from all the other tourist spots. Cannot recommend enough!

We are fresh off a walking tour with Mark and couldn't be happier with our experience. He guided our party of four to remote areas that included geology and geography! We learned tons of local history and it wasn't boring because Mark knows how to bring history to life. If you are considering a walking tour of Isle of Skye then its a nobrainer choice, Mark is the man.

Mark nailed our day with him. The sites we saw and the fact that he included something we both enjoy… hiking.

We had a wonderful time on this day out with Skye Geography Tours. Our guide took us to places we had already passed, but didn't notice and other places that we would never have found on our own. He gave us a very good explanation about how the landscape of Skye was shaped over time, had very good graphical material to illustrate how the geology of the island has evolved, ......
We had high expectations of this tour, and he surpassed our expectations.

We had one day with Mark. It was our first visit to Skye. Mark was an absolutely fantastic host. He picked us up at our hotel and took us on a tour of Sleat. We saw the amazing beauty of Skye including the Black Cullens, the Torrin area, and some beautiful beaches. Mark’s knowledge of the local history both geologic and geographic is quite impressive. We learned a lot, saw a lot and are yearning to see more of Skye. Highly recommend Mark as your guide!

We joined Mark for a fantastic and fantastical tour of Skye in July 2024. Having the opportunity to explore the more remote areas of the island was wonderful. We would not have found these places on our own. Having the additional opportunity to learn about the geological history of the island, and to see the living history of the rocks and mountains around us, was priceless. We had a family group of six and Mark was able to accommodate different levels of mobility and fitness.
