Captain Chad and his co-captain Nano are friendly, cheerful and, above all, extremely competent. The boat is clean and very efficient.
Our fishing experience on the Old Hat at the end of February 2025 met all our expectations. We consider the price of the excursion very reasonable considering the operating costs. We highly recommend choosing this “charter” if you are planning a sea fishing trip to Miami.

Took the family for a half day trip with Chad and Nano, and we had a blast! These guys were so good with our kids! We fished a couple different ways throughout our trip, and one of them allowed us to catch a Hammerhead shark. It was so exciting to watch my son reel it in with Nano at his side coaching him and Chad up top running the boat. Both were very knowledgeable and great to talk with. Highly recommend these guys! You will not be disappointed!

Setting sail with Old Hat Fishing Charters for a half-day morning adventure was an absolute blast! Captain Chad and TJ were the coolest guides, making the trip feel like a day out with friends. We scored big time, reeling in a whopping 12 fish, including mahi-mahi, wahoo, blackfin tuna, and amberine. The boat was decked out with a sweet top deck offering shade, and they even had a cooler that you can stock with your own drinks. Chad and TJ were super chill and helpful, giving us pointers and even cleaning our catch. Can't recommend this experience enough—it was seriously awesome from start to finish!

We had a fantastic, fun 1/2 day charter with Captain Chad and his first mate. The boat, the captain, the mate, and the tackle were all top notch. There were 6 of us on the boat, we all caught fish and had a great, relaxing time. Very friendly and professional team and I plan on going back for a future trip. I have no reservations on giving Old Hat Deep Sea Charters 5 stars and I highly recommend them.

Overall our trip was great. We reached out to Old Hat the evening before and they were able to fit us in. Three days of storms and finally the weather cleared up. We headed out and caught several Mahi and a large Wahoo among others! We took our kids (8 & 10) with us and they came back with some great memories and pics! The crew made us feel right at home and we will definitely return.

Had a fantastic time fishing with TJ and Chad on Old Hat. We've fished a decent amount of charters and these guys are up at the top. The goal is always to catch a good amount of fish (which we did) but if you're going to be on the boat all day, you also want to enjoy the time with the captain and crew (which we absolutely did). Both Chad and TJ have really welcoming and fun personalities that made for enjoyable conversations and just an overall awesome experience. Even if you're an experienced fishermen you want to feel comfortable and loose on the boat, and they completely create that vibe. My 13 year old loved these guys.
The boat was also super clean and well kept with plenty of comfortable seating at the top and in the cabin.
Couldn't have been more pleased and hope to get back down to Miami next year to go out again.

Best charter my husband and I have ever been on! We brought our 7 year old daughter and she had a great time! Captain Chad put us on some fish we could’ve only dreamed of catching and TJ killed it on the reels and getting us all hooked up! Five stars is an understatement! From the biggest Amberjack (hello trophy fish!) to 3 Mahi Mahi within seconds of each other! Phenomenal time! Highly recommend!
