This war museum collection of items was displayed beautifully and the bonus was a retired military guide pointing out things for us.

This was an United States Naval Air Station from 1942 to 1946. After the war, the Airfield (across from the Museum), was redeveloped into DeLand Municipal Airport.
The museum is located across the airport and is maintained by volunteers. They are in the process of restoring a T-33/F-80 and a PT boat. The museum building, even though small, holds a lot of memorabilia from WW-II and the Vietnam wars.
The admission is free. Be ready to spend somewhere between 1:30 to 2 hrs. Based on how many questions are asked in the group.

My husband enjoyed the different aircraft they have on the premises. They have broke ground for another building and are in the process of restoring a PT boat.

This place is amazing! Go see the volunteers and tour the wooden war ship and look at the old planes then go inside and read all the amazing history! The volunteers are so knowledgeable and friendly it's a great way to spend an afternoon!

Informative guide took us through the PT. I found out later my brother had donated one of the uniforms on display!

Naval and air enthusiasts will enjoy the variety of military materials in this museum. Our guide was very knowledgeable and brought aspects of fabricating aircraft and ships for WWII and later conflicts to life. Nicely done!

They are working on fixing the place up. Very small and cramped, but really cool planes to view outside and knowledgeable volunteers.

This Museum is a great little place if you're into military history. Lots of artifacts and documents, plus there's a library of books. If you're looking for specific information on something obscure, this would be a good place to look. It would be a treasure trove for a military researcher I'm sure. There aren't a lot of exhibits, but the ones they do have are very worth while. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable.
I had a great time!

This is a small military history museum, but packed full of artifacts and information. Harold is a wonderful tour guide! Aside from all that is inside, there is a PT boat which is undergoing restoration and a hangar with a helicopter, aircraft and a jeep which have been restored. An artillery gun is also on display in the yard. The older gentlemen who volunteer there have lived much of the history and have very interesting stories. Worth your time!

When me and my girlfriend first pulled up we say a small 1930s house and didn't now if it was going to be worth it. Boy we're we surprised ! I've been to the smithsonian in DC. And quite a few others. Let me tell you they didn't compare at all to the DNAS.

Harold's one of the nicest, most knowledgeable and intelligent person we've ever met. Having a tour by him and getting explained how every single item that interest you works, or the background information with it is incredible. We honestly learned so much. Ask any question you'd like, related to the military ! Harold knows it.

The hangar in the back is incredible where you can get so close to decommissioned planes and a Korean era helicopter.

We missed the pancakes at Deleon springs for the museum and it was definitely worth it !
