You need to stop and see this historic spot.

Informative stop on Route 66. Personal it is a must when you stop in Needles. The volunteer who was working the day we stopped is a local with a lot of pride- he makes it even more interesting. Sorry I didn’t get his name.
We even got to visit inside El Garza thanks to him. Learned soooo very much about this little spot.

Peanuts collectibles & Needles history

Great collection of peanuts collectibles. Spike lived near Needles. Needles has a great history. They have items on the old river boats, local schools, items from early to mid-20th century, etc. Good place to spend some time. Every town has a history of some kind.

Awesome Spike (Snoopy's Brother) Photo Op

A hometown proud menagerie of railroad, Snoopy, indigenous, and local stuff located in an old downtown store with good parking. Free to enter, donations accepted. A friendly volunteer will guide you and answer any questions you have. Easy to find, half-hour visit worked good.

Helpful volunteer and small collection

We actually stopped to see El Garces, a former Havey House right across the street so why not pop in here? They had some good artifacts, some family histories, etc. Learned the first JC Penney in the state of California was housed in that building...hmm. I hope they are able to restore the train station as it is a beauty even now. Good memories for all of train travel to the west.

Small, but definetly worth the stop

This is a small museum, but there is alot crammed into it, and there is something for everyone. Fossils? Got it! Harvey House and railroad memorabilia? Got it! Native American history? Got it! Old photo, memorabilia, and tons of information about Needles? Got it! Even Spike (remember Snoopys brother?) has a place here. The museum docents are super friendly and knowledgable. Worth the stop, especially since this little gem only charge a $2.00 donation. We spent over an hour in there. While your there, stop by their thrift store next door. They have great prices and we found some interesting items there. HINT: Look at a map before you go, they are a little hard to find. We found it because I remember from google maps that they were near the old train station (oh, before I forget....take an extra 10 minutes to walk around this building AFTER you go thru the museum, expecially the back side). and that there was a NAPA store on Broadway Street that was close to it.

An Unexpected Discovery

I was in Needles on business and discovered this charming museum. The old town is worn at the heel but the museum preserves a rich and colorful history. Note: it closes during the months of summer.

SMALL MUSEUM NEEDING MORE SPACE

Located along historic Route 66 in Needles, this museum offers an insight into the history and heritage of the town. There is a lot of memorabilia from the early days to the current time. Worth a 15 - 20 minute stop to visit. Admission is free, donations suggested, and volunteers are available and helpful to explain about any exhibit you may have questions about.
It is co-located with a thrift shop that supports the museum financially.
