Visiting the Goren Park, but in essence we wanted to visit the Monfort, a crusader Castle nestled on a hill that you will see from the parking area in the Park.
We were unable to visit the fortress as it had rained on the previous days, so it was a bit of a difficult trail.
Well worth the visit.

Great walk in nature. The views are stunning. Not too difficult but you must stick to the trail. At this time of year it can be muddy so wear good walking shoes.

We were briefly at goren park after a rainfall when the trails were very muddy. The views of Monfort Castle were amazing. We will return on a less wet day to hike some of the trails without getting mired in mud

The Nahal Kaziv (Kaziv creek) hike is among the most beautiful Israel has to offer.
It features the ruins of a small Crusader-era fortress, a pristine stream zig-zaging through a forest, some great swimming and wading spots, and even a grotto you can venture into.
We took the circular, ~9 KM hike starting near Mitzpe Hilla. The descent to the creek and later ascent were a bit strenous (there are easier, non-circual options to reach the creek), but entirely doable if you're a healthy adult or teen.
The creek itself is mostly shaded, and the water are clean. We waded joyfully even when there was a dry path next to the creek, and stopped a couple of times for a swim.
The grotto at Ein Tamir was also a highlight - be sure to bring a water-resistant flashlight and keep in mind you'll be soaked up to your neck by the time you come out.
On a 10:00 in a June mid-week day, there was plenty of parking at the trailhead (though it filled up by the time we returned). There were other travelers about but it wasn't too crowded.
BOTTOM LINE: If you enjoy hiking, great views and some water, this should be on your itinerary the next time you travel to northern Israel!

Hiked with my 3 kids from the Goren lookout to the castle. The hike was more difficult then I thought with lots of rock-steps and some narrow trails. Be prepared for a 45-60 minute hike each way depending on who you are with. It was overall very worth it though. Best to avoid the heat and come earlier or later in the day.
Scenery is beautiful and it was an overall exciting visit for the kids.

Is a wonderful place. The Kziv River (a dry wadi most of the year) becomes the path from Abadon Moshav to arrive the foot of the Monfort Hill. from there, there is a slope path that arrives to the castle and continues to Mitzpe Hila (a little and pretty settlement). Is possible to sight to the Monfort also, from the observation post on the Kziv wadi, specially in the evening hours the castle walls are filled by very interesting shades.

לאחר נסיעה של מספר דקות ברכב בתוך יער גורן, חנינו בחנייה מסודרת וישבנו בשולחנות עץ לארוחת בוקר, נקי ונעים.
