Was served by a young man Josh Abbley, He was so polite and helpful, He explained everything clearly about the Gallery. He had good knowledge of recent films. Poured a great pint too !!! Well Done Josh, a credit to Showcase

This cinema was pretty good.
Good quality screens and a great sound system meant the film was enjoyable and the reclining leather seats were very comfortable.
We bought the Gallery tickets so we were upstairs with unlimited snacks.
We went to quite a late showing though so when we went to get our snacks we were told that they wouldn’t be unlimited and we just got a few pots of snacks making the ticket price way too high.

Good cinema, seat very comfortable and adjustable and get a good view.
However tickets more expensive than other cinema, experience is more immersive.

I had to provide a rating but in truth I cannot provide a rating for this cinema. The treatment and customer service was disgusting. We went to southampton showcase as a last minute decision/treat for my daughter, her friend and my son. We do not live in southampton and we're across for westquay and made a decision for the cinema at the end of the shopping trip. I booked for the girls to see Exorcist and me and my son to see Trolls. The girls were stopped because they did 'not look 15' and needed id. Unfortunately, we did not have this on us. I vouched for my daughter as her parent but this was not good enough. My daughter's friend managed to get her birth cert photographed and sent to her on her phone, but this was not good enough for staff member, Laura, who proceeded to argue with me that it may not be real! And said that many parents 'lie' inferring I was a liar (and also providing an insight into what Laura's thoughts are on customers - all liars!) I accepted that the girls would not get in and asked for a refund of all tickets given that I could not go in with my son if the girls were not able to get in. I was told no and I could have vouchers. I said that was not acceptable as the cinema had declined entry, I didn't live in southampton and this was a one off treat and I did not want vouchers. As showcase could not provide a service I wanted a refund. I was told I could see an alternative film. I explained the only alternative was Trolls and the two 15 yr old girls did not want to see this, the other films showing were also 15s so this left us back to square one. I insisted that a refund should be provided. Laura had zero diplomacy and proceeded to escalate the situation by arguing with me, inferring I was a liar, shouting at me and pointing at me in public, refusing to give me head office contact on request, huffing and puffing and turning away from me and generally creating an extremely unpleasant scene in the middle of the cinema foyer. I was in awe at the level of her unprofessionalism and she was allegedly a manager for Showcase. Her customer service skills were zero. I said I wanted to speak to someone else as her manner was appalling and 20mins later another manager came to see me who was much more professional and explained the overview. However, the situation was still not resolved satisfactorily with a refund. I am now in touch with head office about the refund as Showcase, even though a big company, feels it is acceptable to take people's money, not provide a service and keep the money. This is not acceptable. I would never step foot again in a showcase cinema as a result of this treatment and I expect Showcase to do the right thing and treat its customers as customers i.e. the people who actually make their business work, not as some irrelevant side issue that they can treat as rubbish. It has been an appalling experience. I await a refund and some professionalism to prevail.

Excellent experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Great deals for sweet treats and drinks. Comfy seating and a good view of the screens.

Main issue is that this cinema experience used to be fantastic but sadly it has nosed dived into the pits of nostalgia.
Where once a Gallery ticket included either a sweet or savoury bento box you now get a pathetic buffet choice of sad looking pita bread, vegetable crisps, brownies or a handful of disgusting salty nuts or if your really lucky the occasional "not quality street" chocolates. We then move onto the seating, where once there were smart leather electric adjustable seats we now have squeaky, sticky, drink stained, worn torn seats. But the saving grace was at least by paying for the gallery tickets we had access to our own bar area so no waiting in line for our large diet cokes...oh wait, they had run out of diet coke and we had to wait for the barman to run down stairs to brings us up some flat diet coke at the wonderfully cheap price of £3.80 a pint!
Shame that the film industry is on its knees with the influx of avaliable movies to stream at home and the lack of funds going back into the industry via cinema go-ers. No wonder with the poor state of this place. Won't ever be returning.
Least the film was good, cant wait to watch the next big release...from my couch !

The cinema was really really cold - to the point we saw people huddling under cardigans and jackets ( as we were) and some had brought throws to put on it seemed!!! Obviously it’s something known to regulars?! I asked a meme we of staff if it could be warmed up but nothing was actioned… We were sat next to two very young ( about 5 and 7) year olds who had been deposited by an adult and then left on their own. Who knows where he went? They were very very noisy - talking and using an iPhone throughout the film. I have no issue with a kids film having young kids making noise but they were unsupervised ( which was dangerous for them!) and was unfair for us having to listen to the noise and constant talking.

Dear showcase customer services,
Hope you are well. Im very disappointed with today service at showcase , us as a family were very excited to watch a Cantonese speaking film in the UK. It is suppose to be a special experience for us and should be one of the greatest night. However instead of enjoying our time tonight , we wasted an hour of our time sat in the cinema but not able to watch even one second of the film due to the technical issue your cinema had.
We hired baby sitter tonight which cost £40 to look after our kids, it suppose to be one of the most relaxing night since being a parents. Your staff was keeping us informed , which is great. She gave us 5 false hopes , she should have taken an executive decision to stop this film going forward after 15 mins delay
However the way how she resolved it at the end was very poorly. We were offered a voucher to watch any 2D films so called : emergency tickets. And we cannot even watch any new releases film after two weeks been released and have to book via phone not online . Very user unfriendly system!
We requested a full refund, and she said it was not possible. It is completely unacceptable, I didn’t not even have a chance to enjoy the product you offered and you basically took my money and gave me a voucher instead, what if I do not want to come back to showcase ever again ? She basically said “tough luck” , either you take this voucher or leave it. This is exactly what she said , I was in shock how we were treated
You kept our money and wasted an hour of my time waiting and we were treated badly from her reaction.
I mean the voucher should be a compensation on top of my refund as a bear minimum , cannot use this to replace my money.
Meanwhile there was no manager on-site to deal with this issue, and we end up had to take the voucher with no other options . I did mention to your staff , I am not accepting this outcome by accepting this voucher, I would escalate this
This type of customer service is totally unacceptable, and I will consider to report this to trading standard, if I do not hear a positive solution from showcase
Like I said this film is very special for us , and your cinema did not even put an effort into this to try and organise another show time for us and prioritise us .

I booked 3 seats for the new ticket to paradise film, it was not being shown on the date i had booked and was asked to call the customer service team to discuss options -THERE ARE NO OPTIONS, they have a NO refund policy and you therefore have no choice but to rebook. I have booked a date but no idea if we will all be able to make it. the customer service rep was rude and when I explained it was not legal to not provide what had been booked he said - it is and its company policy. Terrible company doubt I will use them again.

The movie (Elvis) and the seat experience were great. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the pre-paid hotdog (it was far from hot) and tasted bland. The bread roll was also seeming past its best before date.

Hey what is the difference gallery and x plus 3d, with general x plus 3d and why the general is 19.25 pounds and the gallery is 9.99 pounds

Does anyone know why you can't use the main big staircase to get in? It's all closed off

My best guess is that at the moment it is closed off for repairs, so you get in the only options will be is to use the lift or to use side entrances. The staff located there will be more be more then willing to help guide you to alternative entrances. Hope that you enjoy whichever film that you want to watch over there.

Hey you get the extra.luxury comfy seats , bento box per couple. That includes mars bar , marshmallows , dipping sauce chocolate , sugar doughnuts , sweet popcorn or you can the savoury version salted popcorn, veggie crisps ,, chilli nuts , nachos, salsa . Hope this helps .
