The tour guide Tyler was very informative and friendly. He made sure all our questions were answered and interacted with everyone.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained where the big cats came from and how they are cared for. The sanctuary is "hands off", the cats are only interacted with during feeding, cleaning their area, or medical needs. The cat's personality is a big part of where they are kept and how they are treated. During our visit we had to stay away from one of the cats because it gets very nervous around loud noises, and they had just mowed around his section. They wanted to give the cat some space to calm down.
The cats are big, beautiful, and look very well cared for. The sanctuary depends on private donations to keep them running so these tours help fund the sanctuary.

My wife and I can’t recommend highly enough The National Tiger Sanctuary. Our visit to the sanctuary was amazing. We took the driving tour with Tyler as our guide and then we did the feeding tour with Emily. Both of these guides were very knowledgeable and personable. Again, we definitely recommend this must see spot to everyone.

We spent the extra money on the 3 1/2 hr. 'behind the scenes' tour. Well worth the money and goes to a great cause. Very educational on the history of all the visited cats (and others).
Outside looking in, it is a very well-run establishment. They know each animal's traits and personalities to accommodate their needs. They also are VERY proactive in the mental and physical enrichment.
ALL the volunteers an employees keep a very healthy respect for what these animals are capable of and never let their guard down or take short cuts on protocols.
We also had seen how they are reinvesting into the facility with building a new food prep room. Just a great morning.

The staff were super knowledgeable and genuinely care about animal welfare. We did the feeding tour and were excited to learn details about each of the animals on the tour. The staff giving the tour told interesting background stories about the animals and encouraged questions from everyone. It was exciting and educational-good for all ages except maybe really little kids (the little kids on our tour got too close to the cage and seemed to lose interest by the end). I highly recommend visiting the tiger sanctuary on your Branson trip!

We did the feeding tour and the driving tour. Feeding tour was definitely the better. We had great guides in both tours though. The guides were young but very knowledgeable about the animals there and seemed to genuinely care about them. It is very sad that these magnificent animals have to be in cages but at least here they are safe from their previous lives as entertainers and house pets. A must see / experience and, if you go, give to a great cause.

We took 4 grandkids age 6-17. We learned so much and were so impressed with the quality of care and health of the cats. Out tour guide Clare added humor and touching stories about the situations that brought the cats to the safety of the sanctuary.

This is our second visit. We visited for the first time several years ago. Had a great time then and on our return visit. We added the feeding interaction this time and it was a nice add-on but probably not something we would do again. A good one-time experience. The staff is amazing and we felt welcomed and enjoyed learning about the facility, the rescued cats, and their care. Would definitely visit again if we’re in the area.

I took the behind the scenes tour. It was great fun and very educational. I got to feed 2 tigers and then toured the behind the tours area to learn about their other rescued animals that are not on exhibit. I cone usually once a year and usually take the tram tour which is also very educational.

Trying to decide if it is better to book a morning tour or afternoon? We are taking the dinner train the night before so my first thought is a later tour, but thinking the tigers might be more active on the 10 a.m. Can anyone share their time slots and experience? Thanks!!

We always suggest the tour times based on weather as well. Whenever the weather is the coolest or mildly rainy the cats tend to be most active. If you take a feeding tour, the food incentive will typically always encourage activity from the animals no matter what time of day it is.
Do you actually get to feed the tigers on the you feed tour?

Yes. You are between 2 fences. You put the food in a tube and push it through to the cats.

Thank you for your interesting in National Tiger Sanctuary!
We have different tours that vary in length. The shortest and most basic tour is our Awareness Tour. It lasts around 45 minutes to an hour. Our Feeding and You Feed Tours last around an hour to an hour and a half. We also have Behind the Scenes which is about 3 hours and the Day with the Director which is our longest tour of 5 hours. We have an expanded gift shop where one could spend some time browsing. So it all just depends on how long you would like to spend with us.

can i hold a cub?
Thank you for your interest in NTS! We do not have any opportunities for the public to have contact with our animals. The only time it would be legal for the public to touch a big cat would be a cub. Cub handling is known as Pay To Play and many cubs used die as a result of the stress, lack of sleep, and disease they encounter during excessive handling. That's why you never see AZA zoos or sanctuaries participating in Pay To Play. Instead, you see cub handling at roadside zoos and for profit businesses that just use animals to make money - regardless of the cost to their health. Part of our mission to help educate the public about Pay To Play, because we know people want to do the right thing once they know the truth! Anywhere that lets the public hold baby animals is not contributing to conservation or education - they just care about making a buck.
In light of that, we do have an opportunity to get up close and personal with big cats like never before! Our cats can be seen from only three feet away, and people tell us all the time that they've never been so close to a big cat in their life!
Sincerely,
Abbie

There are several levels of tours. The basic tour is an awareness tour. Adults $25, seniors 55+ $20,kids 3-12 $12. Second step is the feeding tour where you go with the guides as they feed some of the cats. Adults $35, seniors $30, kids $17. Third level is the you feed tour where you get the chance to give the cats a treat. The fee is a straight $60 for all ages. That is as far as my son and I have gone but they also have a behind the scenes tour ( 3 hour walking tour $125 each person. Then there is a day with the director, my one day goal) $250 a 6 hour walking tour. They also have a tigers by twilight by the light of the moon. $40, $35 and $20. No matter what tour you choose the cats are beautiful and the fee helps cover the cost of the Sanctuary. Since they eat about 2K pounds of chicken leg quarters a week any tour is greatly appreciated.
