One of the things that attracted me to visit Argentina on vacation was the asado, a backyard grilling experience that brings families and friends together over a delicious and relaxed meal. But since I don't know anyone in Argentina, I thought there was probably no way to experience it for myself.
Just a few weeks before our trip, I did a Google search to see if there was a tour group organizing one. Although I came up with a few hits, it was clear from the reviews that Frank's Asado Adventure was the best choice. As an American who has lived in Argentina for more than 20 years, he had insight into both cultures and could share what was unique.
The house was beautiful, just a 20-minute walk from our hotel in Palermo Hollywood, and introduced us to a great neighborhood we returned to a couple more times during our visit. The food was excellent (and plentiful...I think we skipped dinner that night), and it was very interesting to see the street art as we walked to the butcher shop and wine shop.
In our case, Frank went above and beyond, so it was closer to six hours than the five advertised (although we could have certainly left earlier). I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone and would further recommend not to schedule anything right afterwards so that you'll have time to wander the neighborhood. There are lots of interesting shops and beer gardens nearby.

Thank you so much for such a nice review. It sometimes happens that the visits last a little longer. I am very glad that you liked the whole experience from starting the fire, to making the chimichurri and going shopping for some of the additional ingredients.

Wow wow this was amazing. Frank is the best. Welcoming you into his beautiful home, explaining the history of plaza Armenia, the street art, the beauty of a Fernandito and much much more. Buy the food, taste the wine, fire up the grill and then enjoy what felt like a family lunch with old friends and we didn’t want to leave. The food was outstanding the wine amazing. What a beautiful day. Thank you

I had a great time showing you everything that is part of this experience. Besides all the things you learned through the tour, you touched on the main thing I want everyone to feel when they participate. I want everyone to feel like they are visiting with a friend (who happens to be be picky about the food he serves). I had a blast and I am very happy that you did as well.

I had a fantastic time at the Asado adventure. The neighborhood walking tour was very interesting, the cooking and food amazing and Frank was a wonderful guide through it all. We had great conversations with Frank and the other guests, just like a bunch of friends hanging out. I highly recommend this adventure!

We loved our Asado Adventure tour! Frank was an excellent guide. He taught us a lot about the history of the Palermo neighborhood and showed us some cool spots in the neighborhood. The food was just amazing. We got to try so many quintessential Argentine foods and drinks, cooked by an expert grillmaster. We even got to try mate, which we had been looking forward to during our time in Buenos Aires! It was worth the cost for the amount and quality of food, as well as the quality of the guide. Come hungry!!

I am also glad I could complete one of your wishes by presenting mate to you. Of course, we had it in a different way than Porteños (residents of Buenos Aires), but it's still traditional from a different region of Argentina.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on November 30, 2022!
It was so easy getting there!
Frank arranged a taxi from our hotel to his beautiful home, that is nestled in charming Palermo Soho, a neighborhood in Buenos Aires.
We were welcomed by Frank, shared some information about ourselves, while sipping refreshing lemonade and then we strolled through Palermo while we picked up a few items for our meal, and admired the colorful street art.
We stopped at a small wine store for a three wine (sit down) Argentinian wine and cheese tasting. Delightful!
We then returned to Frank’s home, where we were served a delicious meal of traditional Argentine foods in his tree and plant lined patio.
We highly recommend this small group excursion! Frank made us feel like members of his family. Perfect way to experience Buenos Aires! We highly recommend Asado Adventures!

I was fortunate enough to experience this tour as my first activity when I arrived in BA. Due to a cancellation of other individuals this turned out to be a solo/1-1 tour with Frank.
He graciously welcomed me into his beautiful home and started informing me about the history of Argentina as well as some of the dishes and foods we would be consuming later. After we set initial light to the fire for the asado we then explored the streets of Palermo taking in all the beautiful street art and buying the best in meats, cheeses and wines. When we returned the grill master himself, Max, was already hard at work putting the finishing touches on the courses that we would soon consume.
Everything about this tour is first-class, genuine and authentic. From the hosts themselves to the succulent meals and everything in between, this tour is simply not to be missed. Thanks again Frank and Max, well done!

FIRST CLASS Host! Had a great time in his Palermo viejo neighborhood. Attended this with some other guests to kick off our visit to Buenos Aires. There's no comparison to what you will experience at this legitimate ASADO. You will dive right into feeling at home! Fun, interactive (you've gotta help shop at the butcher, baker and wine store, prep cook) and DRINK/EAT delicious. Bonus street art sightings with insights as well as Palermo Viejo history along the shopping route. Truly unforgettable.

Muchas gracias por dejar la reseña. Me alegra que tomaste el tiempo para compartir. Y cómo dices, es todo una experiencia completa que empieza con cómo encender la parrilla y el tipo de carbon y leña que usamos. Después es salir al carnicero, Vinoteca y panaderÃa para regresar a casa y seguir el proceso hasta que llegamos a compartir lo preparado en un almuerzo super agradable.

Incredible experience! Frank curated a full day of shopping, learning about the Palermo neighborhood, eating incredible food, drinking great wine and making new friends. Cannot recommend highly enough for tourists, locals, solo travelers and groups.

I am so glad you enjoyed the tour. It was great fun hosting you in my home and showing you how to make chimichurri, caramelizing pecans, and cutting mangos. You also had a chance to pepper our grill master about the different cuts of meat that were on the grill. The whole day was great fun, and I hope you enjoy the photo album I created for you. Do the students get to cook each item and then eat them? Or do they just watch the chefs prepare each dish?

Our visitors learn how to light the grill directly. They then prepare the chimichurri while we guide them. After that we head out shopping for the main cut of meat, the bread and the wine. We learn a bit of neighborhood history and street art while we walk from place to place.
When we get back to the house, there is a picada already waiting. Once we finish that, our guests also help put the salads together.
We then head out to the grill and we show everyone all of the cuts that are on the grill. This is the moment that we talk about the meat, how to cook it, how to cut it, etc. We then sit down to eat.
