When in Maui
I had an absolute great time doing the tour. Oscar was an amazing tour guide. He had a lot of history and background throughout the tour. He was very enthusiastic and welcoming upon meeting the group. I loved the locations we were brought to, he always gave us enough time at each stop. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Maui Fantastic is Fantastic
Oscar was an exceptional tour guide! From the moment we left he was fun and engaging. He takes his job seriously and delivers and outstanding experience. The stops ere all great. Oscar made sure we arrived at the black sand beach before the crowds arrived. He even managed to make the long ride back entertaining.

But when it comes to our actual travelers they enjoy every moment on the tour. That's what we need & it's our end goal. Also, we need to thank you for mentioning our tour guide. But when it comes to our actual travelers, Yeah they are really happy at end of the day. We need to show to all our new travelers what our previous travelers say. Thank you again for proving it. Road to Hana (Hell) Ditto the review by 4ammib. Let me just say, this was the absolute worst tour I have ever taken, you definitely did not get what you paid for although Oscar, our tour guide might disagree with you. I was on this tour with 6 other family members, the youngest being 29, and one other young woman. As soon as we get on the bus, he tells us how fortunate we are to have paid what we did because now the price is over $200 per person. This tour did not give us hardly anything it was supposed to, we never stopped at the Bamboo Forest even though they specifically mention on their website "We are the only company that makes a stop at the Bamboo Forest. This is an exclusive tour", Oscar left a picture of the Bamboo Forest on our seat for us all to pass around and look at. The "all day" drinks and snacks that were supposed to be available were not, we were lucky to get 1 bottle of water and the "Soda Pop" was for Oscar. They specifically mentioned Ice Coffee as one of the beverages but we certainly weren't getting that if we couldn't even get "Soda Pop". Not once did he even offer us chips or the drinks, we had to ask. We could hardly understand anything Oscar was saying his English was so bad, we never stopped at any of the sights/waterfalls shown in the pictures and mentioned in the tour, he touted helping the locals and he stopped at one stand for himself, never asked any of us if we wanted to buy the coconuts and bananas the local was selling. I had inquired about the "Souvenirs that we were supposed to receive and was told that it was 1 per booking group (that was not stated on the things that were included when we booked our trip back in March, it has since been changed on the website). I was also told that we wouldn't receive a Hawaii calendar because it was too expensive to give those away now and it was already May, so we didn't get one. The backpack that we were to get was not worth the $2 they probably spent on it, it they want to save money they should cut the backpack out altogether. Also, once I asked about the "souvenirs" and expressed my disappointment on not receiving a calendar Oscar's mood definitely changed. He hardly spoke and just drove by places that he could have pointed out what it was. Coming back. The stereophonic music that the website mentions is 1940's music from West Side Story or Guys Dolls, something like that, I can't remember but it was slow and would put you to sleep. We asked him to change the music and he changed it to something equally as bad only this time the songs were in Spanish, I wasn't surprised. On the way back we had to yell for Oscar to stop for a school bus that was letting kids off. Then going around one of the narrow bends we came at a standstill with a truck, there were cars behind the truck so he couldn't back up, there were no cars behind us but Oscar would not budget. After a couple minute standoff, both our van and the truck inched past each other, I was very surprised we did not hit each other. Also on the way back, my husband was sitting in the passenger seat in the very front of the van, he had to ask Oscar twice if he wanted him to take over driving, he was falling asleep. Then he noticed Oscar sniffing something in a yellow tube, must have been something to wake him up. Finally we reached our point of arrival 15 minutes ahead of schedule. I guess that 15 minutes would have been our trip to the Bamboo Forest that we never saw. We actually still gave him a tip and I definitely regret it. Like many other reviews I've read, Oscar will dispute this review as saying I am a competitor but I can assure you I am not. This was a vacation and it was the only disappointing part of our time in Hawaii. I wish I had read any of the reviews before I booked this tour, I like the reviewer 4ammib, would have avoided being placed on a Maui Fantastic van with Mr. Personality. Maui is Fantastic but not this tour. Don't waste your money find another company to take this tour with.

You get what you pay for. If you are looking for an 8 hour race to Hana and back then this tour company is for you. Oscar from Maui Fantastic must have a charm he did not exhibit on our tour with him. He was rude and off putting from the get-go. Or maybe it was just to myself and my friend that he disrespected because she was black and I am white. I even asked before the van left the parking lot if his tour was a Spanish speaking tour, due to the fact he started right in gearing his activities as though no one spoke English. Such a shame that my friend and I missed out on so much of the beauty on The Road to Hana because of this condescending clown. The last hour and a half of our tour, he kept jumping out of the van about every 20 minutes. We later found out it was due to one of his tires going bad which could have ended poorly. When asked about this, Oscar stated that without a police report there was no evidence of a tire going bad.

Of course, after reading the other bad reviews for this specific tour, Oscar will come back and dispute my whole review as though it was my friend and I, who were the problem. I wish I would have read more reviews before booking this tour, I would have avoided being placed on a Maui Fantastic van with “mister personality” Oscar.

I enjoyed the trip. I wished we would have stopped at the bamboo forest not sure why we didn't. Other than that we had a great time our guide was nice.

Hello there, Thank you very much for the review. We had no time to stop there. Because we spent a lot of time in other places. You were very friendly and we really appreciate it. We are the only one tour company in Maui that has very knowlegeable tour guides. We always try to complete our vision. Maui Fantastic tours, Adventures that fill your Soul !... Thank you very much for your review to prove again that we are the BEST. Just a point of note you guys don’t make stop on bamboo forest for heavy rain days before and the area was very muddy also Natural Parks and Resources from Maui County notice to us, our tour guide share with you but maybe you don’t listen for some distraction on the road and we compensate with more time on other locations and extra mile on Ke’anae peninsula.

the black sand beach was breathtaking!! Everything was well planned out, with plenty of time at each activity! Our tour guide was full of joy too which added to the experience - his name was Oscar! Totally recommend him!
