The FAQ indicated that we would visit several landmarks , but we did not. Schloss hellbrunn and Schloss leopoldskron were not included, nor a walking tour through Mondsee or St Michael’s church. When several people asked the guide about them, she did not provide an answer . The Nonnberg Convent was pointed out to us and we were told we could visit in our free time, but the tour description included this location.
The local tour guide walked very fast through the town, she did not pay attention if the group was keeping up, and even though it was extremely crowded in Salzburg that day, she did not hold her umbrella up for us to find her . She did not stop long enough for us to take photos anywhere .

Our trip was on 1st October 2022 from Vienna to Salzburg and it was gone on the time schedule and was made very informative with history and the Sound of Music story to us. Catherine the guide and Daniel the driver both were very professional on their task ,very friendly and well looked after us and especially the driving was very safe and felt very comfortable throughout the entire trip. Highly recommended. Excellent tour. Congratulations!

What no one tells you before you book this tour, is that Austrians hate this movie. They do not like to be reminded of their WWII history. The walking tour felt more like a Mozart life tour and we were left to find a lot of the landmarks on our own. Saltzburg itself is beautiful and worth the visit, however if you’re looking for enthusiasm from the guides re the movie, you should probably book a different tour.

The tour was well organised and the guide was full of relevant information. Saltzberg is a beautiful town and well worth the visit. However, the tour although it visits some of the films locations, you are unable to stand in or on the actual sets (e.g. the steps or stand inside the gazebo).

What a great tour. The drive is very long but our busdriver were excellent and Daria our guide kept us informed with very interesting details and music from Vienna to Salzburg. Very professional. It rained but we still got to see everything. Beautiful views on the way to Salzburg. Excellent and knowledgeable guide in Salzburg. Defnitely a tour to do.

This was a fun experience. It lasted the entire day. We were able to see all the big sites from the movie and a lot of Salzburg, Lake Mondsee, and more! If you go, just bring an umbrella or a poncho. It rained for about an hour and a half.

This is a great tour. Sound of music fans will love it. The only negative I can say is, we stop at 10am and can have a quick snack, then by the time you get to Salzburg it’s 130-2, and you go straight to a 2 hour walking tour. So it’s 4 before you can have lunch. The tour is great and if you are a sound of music fan you will love it. I just suggest bringing some snacks with you because it’s a long day with no food. Also bring water, as they don’t provide any water. Other then that it is very enjoyable.

I was hesitant to book as there weren't many reviews or info. Yet we had a great time! It was my mom's highlight.
We were picked up from our hotel in a 8 passenger van in the time frame on our voucher (I do wish it was a smaller time frame). On our drive to Salzburg we made a rest stop (restroom/food for 15 min) and then went to St. Michael's to see where they filmed the wedding scene (restrooms available). Then we had quick photo ops to view the Mondsee Lake and a mountain. We stopped at Hellbrung Palace to view the gazebo (restrooms available). We also stopped at the Palace Leopold to see the lake terrace. Along the way we were provided great information by Arman and got to listen to the soundtrack. There is a microphone in the van to hear the driver.
We arrived in Salzburg at 1:40 pm and began our walking tour with a different guide. Some people were hungry. (I suggest that they either bring a sack lunch or buy food at that first rest stop). We went by various sights in Salzburg related to the film: the Mirabell Gardens, Nonnberg Abbey, the catacombs, and the riding school. We also saw historical sights like Mozart's home, oldest restaurant, and the Cathedral where Mozart was baptized. There is a uphill walk to the convent so those with mobility issues take note.
We had about 2 hrs of free time after the tour. Since I had been before I took time to eat and went into a few shops. Pick up spot and time was made very clear.
On our drive back we made one stop for restrooms/food. We listened to Mozart on the way back. I would recommend this company for this tour. Like I mentioned, it is a very later lunch so plan for that. But overall it was a nice day and organized well.

The "Sound of Movies" day trip to Salzburg was a highlight of our trip to Austria. Arman, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable - not only were there lots of fun Sound of Music sites and stories (not to mention singing Rodgers and Hammerstein songs along the way), but Arman also knew all about the city's history and historical sites of interest. We learned about the emperors and saints who shaped the city, and more about Mozart, of course. There was such a wealth of information and so many wonderful places to see - for a single day tour, we saw a lot! Besides being a big Sound of Music fan, I'm also a history buff, so this tour was perfect for me. Arman walked our legs off, but it was well worth it. We loved Salzburg and loved the tour.

A long day -- 8 AM till 7:30, Armand, our driver, was very good -- on the way out., he gave us lots of interesting history & facts. He has a somewhat heavy Russian accent that was difficult to understand at first -- when speaking in person, it was much easier. I realized that he holds the mike too close to his mouth -- he needs a bit of training there. Our local guide in Salzburg was Natasha -- again very good and excellent English. We were a small group (7), but it was still sometimes hard to hear her -- would have been nice to have those earphones other groups seemed to have so you could be a bit away and still hear her narration. She was great in that she asked the group "Sound of Music" or Salzburg -- and most of us wanted Salzburg -- so we got the best of both worlds and she was very knowledgeable about the city.
My only criticism would be the stops -- one 1/2 way there at @ 9;30 AM and the other half way back - both for @ 30 minutes. The problem was that when we got to Salzburg, we immediately went on tour and didn't have time for lunch until 3:30 PM. I would suggest 10 min pit stops going and coming and an hour for a quick lunch upon arrival in Salzburg.
